12-Fixed Cycles on the Mill-G86

G86 - boring cycle: G86 X1. Y1. Z-1. R.1 F7 G98

This cycle feeds the tool in and at the bottom it stops the spindle. The spindle then orients and rapids out.

G86 X1. Y1. Z-1. R.1 F7 G98

If you are using a boring tool with this cycle it will probably scrape the side of the bore wall when it exits the hole.

Many programmers use this cycle for reaming because it will (supposedly) produce a tighter hole. A G85 reaming cycle may cut on the way out of the hole and make it bigger, .0001"-.0003" or more depending on the material.
